NEW SONG FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM THE BALANCE, OUT APRIL 26

Speaking directly to fans and friends through his lyrics, Catfish and the Bottlemen’s Van McCann opens up about lies, loyalty, and love with new song “2all,” out today via Capitol Records: LISTEN HERE. An incisive, bass-driven three minutes of lean songwriting, the track offers another hint of what’s to come on the arena-filling band’s third album, The Balance, out April 26.

The widescreen video accompanying the track, directed by long-time collaborator Jim Canty, sees the band on the British coastline for a second time: WATCH HERE. Picking up the scene from the black and white, one-take aerial footage released to accompany their January single “Longshot,” McCann takes the wheel of a vintage 1956 Land Rover once again to speed the band along weather-beaten South Shields beaches and cliff tops. After putting on the brakes, the four-piece jump out to let rip with a live performance in the seaside town’s landmark Amphitheatre arcades.

The band will perform their single “Longshot,” praised by Alternative Press as “triumphant,” on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Outdoor Stage in front of a sold-out audience tomorrow, March 20. Having amassed over 22 million global streams since its release, “Longshot” has also been rapidly climbing radio charts and is already Top 15 at Alternative and Top 20 at AAA.

Catfish and the Bottlemen are currently approaching the halfway point of an extensive headline US and Canada tour, which hits the historic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA this Friday, March 22. The first leg of the tour wraps up in New York City with a SOLD-OUT date at Brooklyn Steel on April 3. A recently announced June extension to the transatlantic jaunt, responding to growing demand, includes dates in Toronto, Detroit and Boston. The band will return to the UK for festival headline slots at Citadel Festival in London and TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow.

The Balance was recorded by McCann (vocals, guitars), Johnny Bond (guitars), Bob Hall (drums) and Benji Blakeway (bass) over a 12-month period in the company of Irish producer Jacknife Lee in two secluded studios: Grouse Lodge, in Moate, Republic of Ireland, and The Chapel in the countryside of East Lincolnshire. The album was mixed by Craig Silvey.
